Providence Street is being repaved in sections.   As of August, 2007, we have finished binding Providence Street from Hartford Ave. East to the Blackstone town line and shipsealed from Hartford Ave. East to Cemetary Street.  The black gravel-type material left behind after the chipseal will be swept up after the material has had a chance to be absorbed into the pavement.  The next section of roadway-from Hartford Ave. East toward the town center will be reclaimed and a coat of binder put down during the fall of 2007. 

The ongoing issues with the sewer connection from Clough School to the leach field behind the Highway Department are being addressed with a long term maintenance contract to keep the lines clear of obstructions and backup.  The Highway Department has been diligently working to solve this problem and return the roadsides to a finished state.  I would like to thank the residents along Providence Street for their patience and understanding while we work this problem out.
